My Everyday Dilemma - Win’s Scarf
Well, what am I gonna do, with Win Barsby’s scarf?
A lovely green print, in soft, soft wool, and sewn with a rolled hem edge.
Her scarf fell out of her coat, as it hung in my closet,
But that was the first Tuesday in March,
Before we were self quarantined.
She came to my place, with Almeda and Mary
The four of us chatted for hours.
We talked about holidays and our favorite pastime
The design and creation of quilts.
We had some bags of fabrics
That we made a plan to sew
We would get together, and cut all the pieces
And then sew them together again.
After awhile we had lunch
I made some soup and biscuits to eat
We drank our tea with a nice butter tart
That I bought at the Butter Tart Shop.
Well, what am I gonna do, with Win Barsby’s scarf?
A lovely green print, in soft, soft wool, and sewn with a rolled hem edge.
Her scarf fell out of her coat, as it hung in the closet,
But that was the first Tuesday in March,
Before we were self quarantined.
I found it there, beside my rain boots
A week after she was here
I knew it was hers, and I messaged her then
In order to return it to her.
So now, her scarf is draped on the railing
In my hallway beside the front door.
Waiting for a time when we can get together
And visit with our friends once more.
Just waiting for the flip side of C.O. Vid 19,
When we can visit with our friends once more.
Call me mandolinda
Just me and my mandolin, learning how to make some music.
Navigating the times with reflections of the past and thoughts about the future.
